You have a good chance of currently being stood in what was part of St Saviour’s Friary but Bridge Street was to become the busiest street in the town, linking up with Quay Street. Even after the town ‘modernised’ itself this street remained the hub; the fact that Woolworths originally positioned its first store in the town here speaks volumes.
